“Handcrafted” can describe how a product is made, but it should not be treated as proof that the product performs better than every machine-made alternative. For a purse pillow, useful quality indicators are straightforward: appropriate sizing, clean construction, secure seams, even fill distribution, and a smooth contact surface.

What handcrafted means at Fabrinique

Fabrinique Purse Pillows are sewn in Peru and finished in Virginia. Human handling is part of the production process, including sewing, filling, finishing, and inspection.

Look at the finished product

Whether an insert is handmade, partially mechanized, or mass-produced, inspect the result. Seams should be intact, fill should not be exposed, and the pillow should not contain hard or sharp components that create concentrated contact inside the bag.

Fit is still the priority

Craftsmanship does not make an oversized insert appropriate. The pillow should fill the usable interior gently without stretching exterior panels, forcing corners outward, or making the closure difficult.

Soft fill and even distribution

Lightweight fiber fill allows a Purse Pillow to conform to the interior. Fill can shift or compress with handling, so occasional fluffing or redistribution may be useful. Fabrinique does not claim that its fill maintains loft indefinitely.

Shell material

The shell should be clean, dry, smooth, and in good condition before it is placed inside a handbag. No textile should be described as incapable of abrasion, color transfer, or wear under every possible condition.

Handmade does not mean preservation guarantee

A handcrafted storage insert cannot guarantee prevention of creasing, scratches, leather aging, moisture problems, structural changes, or changes in resale value.
