The Fabrinique Birkin 30 pillow insert is a shape-preserving cushion designed to fit inside a Hermès Birkin 30 during storage. It holds the front and back panels apart so the bag keeps its structured silhouette instead of collapsing, sagging, or creasing when it isn't in use. Handmade in Lynchburg, Virginia. Filled with acid-free material safe against leather.

Dimensions & Fit

Bag exterior (Birkin 30): 30 × 22 × 16 cm

Fabrinique insert: Sized to occupy the Birkin 30's cavity without pressing on the closure or corner stitching.

Fits: Togo, Clemence, Epsom, Swift, and Box leather Birkin 30s. Fits both palladium and gold hardware. Works with retourné construction (the standard Birkin build).

Does not fit: Birkin 25 (use the Birkin 25 insert), Birkin 35 (use the Birkin 35 insert), the HAC/Haut à Courroies, or the Birkin 3-in-1.

The Birkin 30 in Culture

The most photographed size. Introduced in 1996, the Birkin 30 became the most widely produced and most widely photographed Birkin size in the world — a sweet spot between the compact 25 and the working-size 35. Sotheby's calls it "the most popular and versatile size of the Birkin family." Source: Sotheby's, Best Birkin Sizes for Your Lifestyle
Victoria Beckham's house neutral. Beckham's Birkin obsession has been documented by British Vogue since 2004; her 30cm bags — including an Etoupe Togo Birkin 30 and a red Rouge Birkin 30 with palladium hardware — appear in her collection as everyday staples rather than special-occasion pieces. Not Jane Birkin's original. The bag Jean-Louis Dumas made for Jane Birkin in 1984 was a hybrid closer in scale to today's Birkin 35 — the 30 came 12 years later as the "everyday" refinement. Jane Birkin's original prototype sold at Sotheby's Paris in July 2025 for £7.4 million, the highest price ever paid for a handbag at auction. Source: BBC News
The auction record-setter (before Jane's own). A Himalaya Birkin 30 in Niloticus crocodile — set with white gold and diamonds — sold at Christie's Hong Kong for HK$2.98 million (US$379,000), holding the "most expensive handbag at auction" title until Jane Birkin's original overtook it in 2025. Why the 30 sags first. The 30's proportions — wide enough to slouch, narrow enough to lose its edge without support — are the exact conditions that cause the front-panel dip most 30-owners eventually notice. A correctly sized pillow addresses this directly. Source: PurseBop size guide

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know this fits my Birkin 30?

If your bag measures 30 cm across the top opening, this is the correct size. Every standard Birkin 30 — regardless of leather (Togo, Clemence, Epsom, Swift, Box) or hardware — uses the same interior cavity.

Will the pillow hurt the leather over time?

No. The cover is a smooth, low-abrasion fabric, and the fill is acid-free polyester so it won't yellow leather during long-term storage.

Should I use this if I already stuff with tissue paper?

The pillow replaces tissue paper. Tissue distributes unevenly and can compress into knots that dent the bag interior. The pillow gives the entire front and back panel steady, low-pressure support.

Cream or Black — does it matter?

Only cosmetically. Match your bag's interior lining if you like a coordinated look, or keep one of each. Neither color transfers.

What's your return policy?

30-day returns on unused, unstained inserts. Ships from our Virginia workshop within 2 business days.
